I’ve only got 3 places filled for this weekend and am seriously thinking of cutting it down to one day (I can probably fill most of the places from my local dive club). I need to know asap if anyone’s interested in this event, so as to give the skipper enough notice. The diving is really good and the boat is a big catamaran with a lift. Suitable for semi-dry dives, though not for those who’ve never dived in the UK before.

6 day live-aboard on Blue Seas diving the above reefs. First night staying at the Coral Beach in Port Ghaleb, with a days boat diving and then boarding Blue Seas that evening for a 6 day safari to these reefs, which I love.

Website changes

If you log into the members area of the website, you’ll see a few changes, following an upgrade to the latest version of the Wordpress software.

Most changes are to the style of the pages, but one important change is that it’s now easier to add photos, video, documents, and even sound to your posts. On the Write Post page, you’ll see “Add media:” with icons for each type of media (Documents come under “other”). You can either upload the file from your computer, or if it’s something on another website (e.g. a YouTube video), just enter the URL (link) to the file.

This is a non-GLUG dive - a mixture of people I know. I’ve got two places left. It’s a 3-day event over the bank holiday, diving off X-Dream and staying at a comfortable B&B in Weymouth. Diving is £37.50 per day and accommodation a bargain £18 per night inc breakfast. Any UK drysuit diver welcome - please contact me for a booking form.

Diving for Life 2008 - places still available

I received this today from the DFL (Diving for Life) organisers:

We are excited about Diving for Life at Phi Phi Island in Thailand October 18-25, 2008. The trip is selling well, and we have booked enough participants to have exclusive use of our section of the resort. (Thai hospitality dictates that a small section of the resort be available for other guests.) However, we still have capacity to add more particiapnts. Please go to our website, http://www.divingforlife.org/ for more information about this year’s trip and to obtain registration forms. We also have some wonderful add-on trips on the website, if you are inclined to stay in Southeast Asia a little longer.

Please pass along information about Diving for Life to other diving friends. We are pleased to have registrants who have never been to Diving for Life this year from all over the world, and it is always nice to expand our community. We hope to see you in Thailand.
