Fun Fun Fun!

Posted by smokiejoe on June 25th, 2010

Dear All,

A brief reminder that we are running another Try Dive and Social event for GLUG on July 17th at the private pool in Streatham. For those who haven’t been before, we have full use of the gardens, a BBQ and of course, use of the pool! It’s a fun day, a chance to socialise and get wet. Better still, the pool doesn’t use chlorine, so no bleaching of that brand new 5ml!

Divers of all levels are welcome to dip their fins, try out new kit and perhaps try a piece of someone else’s if you’ve been coveting their BCD or other bits for a while. For those of you who want to try an underwater scooter, I’ll be bringing mine along for the ride.

Don’t forget, SPREAD THE WORD! Friends, neighbours, colleagues, Grindr meets or even the milk ‘person’ may be itching to try diving. Bring them along!

GLUG has also been invited to get involved in the 2018 bid for the Gay Olympics, so a good incentive to boost our numbers and thrash out some ideas. And don’t forget, as an added bonus, anyone who books a try dive gets free membership to GLUG for this year. There is street parking around the pool and local buses and trains mean transport ain’t such a drag. Look forward to seeing you all there!

All the best

Pembrokeshire, 23-25 July – spare place

Posted by mayday on June 22nd, 2010

Unexpectedly I’ve got a spare place for the forthcoming trip to Pembrokeshire.  This is really easy diving, so suitable for PADI Open/BSAC Ocean upwards, with semi-dry suits being adequate.  It’s a 3-day trip – Friday/Saturday/Sunday.  There’s a wonderful marine reserve where we dive, so lots to see.  Please contact me asap if you’re interested or would like more details.

Underwater Photography 6th July 2010

Posted by Ian France on June 9th, 2010

Hello All,

Stuart Keasley (www.bottlefish.net, an underwater cameraman for monty halls) has offered to host an UW photo review session at the next GLUG club meeting on 6th July 2010.

The session will give individuals the opportunity to talk toStuart about your photos, to get feedback and suggestions on how how they can be improved, or answer general questions about issues that are being experienced. Burn your images to disc and bring them along on the evening.

Please let me know if you are interested, if there is a big demand, we will schedule a time table with half an hour slots for the evening, so ensure that they chat to as many people as possible.

Thanks all.

Ian
