London Frontrunners Fundraiser Event – Sat 16th Jan

Posted by Mark on January 4th, 2010

One of our newer members (Richard) who is also a member of London Frontrunners has supplied some information about a forthcoming fundraising event which may be of interest.

A member of London Frontrunners has given up employment in order to train for and qualify to race in Iron Man championships in 2010! Full details are contained in the pdf document linked to below and for those who are debating whether opening the pdf is worth the ‘hassle’… I’ll just mention, 26 years old, bicycle, Lycra shorts…

The link to the full flyer.

The event is a cabaret style evening with a variety of performances including drag queens, music and fun and there’s a raffle.

Essential details are: Upstairs in Comptons, Saturday 16th January @ 7.30pm.

There’s also a facebook link for the event.

Ocean Optics Newsletter

Posted by Neil on January 4th, 2010

I’ve just received an Ocean Optics Newsletter which gives details of various events being organised by Ocean Optics and their associates.

A couple of items that might be of interest to GLUG members:

  • If you missed the GLUG Underwater Photography Day in November, then you might be interested in the next Open Day on Feb 27th.  £45 will buy you two hours on their UW Photography stage, including tank, air, and weights.  The newsletter also has details of UW Photography courses on other dates in February.
  • An all-day UW Photography Masterclass by Peter Scoones, founder of the British Society of Underwater Photographers, on Feb 6th.
  • An evening presentation on 8th April, aimed at divers who are new to, or considering taking up Underwater Photography.

To book any of these events, please contact Ocean Optics directly.
