Peter Hughes Diving

Craig and I met with Sue Hamilton from Peter Hughes Diving yesterday.
Peter Hughes Diving is a US-based company that runs luxury liveaboards to Tobago, Belize, Papua New Guinea, The Galapagos, and Komodo (Indonesia).
The good news is that GLUG members can now get a 10% discount on their trips, when booked through the club. This is in addition to any other discounts - for example, members of BSAC’s Travel Club get an additional 10% discount.
Their trips are definitely a cut above many other liveaboards - here’s some of the features of their Tobago trips:
- Spacious, air-con cabins, all with private heads & showers
- Buffet lunch
- Freshly baked mid-morning and mid-afternoon snacks
- Choice of 2 entrees for dinner
- Morning coffee service to your cabin
- Nightly turn-down service
- Entertainment centre with CD and VCR
- Hairdryers and toiletries provided in every cabin
- All drinks included (even alcohol!)
- 5 1/2 days diving, with up to 5 dives per day
Excel airways now fly to Tobago 2-3 times a week from Gatwick, with prices starting from around £350.
With the GLUG members discount, and the favourable exchange rate at present, this means that a trip on the Wind Dancer could cost less than £1100 - little more than a Southern Red Sea Liveaboard.
We’re hoping to arrange for Sue to come and give a presentation to the club in March, when she’s here for LIDS - watch this space.
Update 15-Dec-2004: This has now been confirmed. Make a note in your diaries to come along and find out more. I’m also going on their Tobago trip on 15th January, so I’ll be able to give you an unbiased opinion!
Neil.
