Posted by Anna on October 11th, 2006

A couple of my friends are launching a new G & L club night called Myth on the 25th of October at Sugar Hut Village in Brentwood (Essex). Please see the poster below for details

I’ve deleted two anonymous comments that were made on the above post, but left Anna’s replies.

Basically, the anonymous poster (who posted their comments from an Essex County Council computer, BTW), made some allegations about the owners of the nightclub.

I don’t know whether the allegations are true or false, but posting anonymous diatribes on this website will not be tolerated.

If the anonymous poster is so sure of their facts, then they should be prepared to disclose their email address to the webmaster (we never post them publicly), so that we can discuss your concerns.

If anyone has an issue with the contents of any post on this website, then they can contact the webmaster via the Contact Form, using a valid email address. If I believe that they have a valid point, I will update the post myself.

Persistent unwanted anonymous comments will result in the person’s IP address being banned - this will prevent them from even viewing the site.

I’m shocked that an annonymous spammer has managed to enter our website and write such a bunch of rubbish. It looks like some very sad and vindictive people try to jeopardise other peoples’ effort to give the LGB community more choice of social events and entertainment.

I’ve been there myself and I think that it’s a great venue. I may be biased, because it’s arranged in my favoured Thai/South Asian style, but the tickets are not more expensive than in any other LGB places, so how it can be a rip off.

I hope that the poisonous comments would not deter any of you from turning up this coming Wednesday, if you have been planning to come. As with all new venues, nobody can predict if people will like it or not but you always have a choice of not coming back.

We don’t chose an entertainment or social event by digging into personal lives/affairs of its organisers, do we? Do we know all names and live stories of owners/proprietors/organisers of numerous LGBT clubs/bars/venues we attend? Usually we try new places when they are launched and we either like them or we don’t, without knowing anything what’s going on behind the closed doors.

Moreover, this is a website of a diving group. I don’t think that this is a kind of discussion that anybody who visits this website is intrested in. Therefore, I suggest, that whoever is the person who started this ‘public washing of private dirty laundry’, she/he e-mails me by clicking at the envelope on the top of this post, if she/he wants to continue this discussion and may be enlighten me about something I don’t know.

However, I must admit that I despise people, who opress other GLBT crowd. It’s no surprise that we are opressed by others if we cannot sort out our differences in a civilised manner.
