Portland Harbour RIB diving/UK intro

Posted by smokiejoe on August 16th, 2010

Hi folks,

Just to let you all know that I’m running a trip out of Portland for those who wish to try UK diving for the first time, or just gain some more experience on some easy dives.  We’ve just come back from Weymouth where the weather was lovely and the viz was great.

We’ll be diving off a RIB so good experience for those who’ve not used on before.  Nice easy dives, accompanied by either an instructor, or another member of GLUG highly experienced in UK diving, you’ll get a taster of just how much fun UK diving really can be.

Any questions, let me know.

Also, don’t forget it’s our Try Dive AND social this weekend, so come along, have a beer and get wet if you fancy it.

All the best

    Hi Dave,

the trip link doesn’t seem to be working at the moment, but if you go to the trips page all the information is there. The trip is Number 127, the 11th & 12th September, so suggest driving down on the Friday and staying Fri & Sat nights.

I’ve also updated this post but the website isn’t showing it the new version!
    We are diving
Sat: James Fennell followed by Durdle Door
Sun: the Black Hawk followed by Lulworth Banks where you can learn to dive for scallops!

Look forward to seeing you all there!

    Hi Richard,

You would need an absolute minimum of Open Water to make these dives. We are running the first part of the Open Water course on 4th & 5th of September. Drop me an email at training2010.glug.co.uk and I can discuss with you whether we can get you through in time.

    Hi Martin,

My booking for this trip has gone through but there was no prompt for the £45 deposit, do you need me to pay that separately?
Also, as I indicated in the notes field, I’ll be arriving Saturday noon and stay for one night only. I hope this is ok with the hotel booking. I’ll need to know when and where to meet you guys for the Saturday afternoon dive then.

    Cheers,
    Gerald

    Hi Martin,
Just a note to say Damian and I really enjoyed the weekend in Portland – it was great to do the Sunday dives as a buddy pair and has boosted our diving confidence loads. Was nice to meet everyone too – a lovely bunch!
Looking forward to another trip sometime soon… maybe with a dry suit?!

    Helen :-)
