New gallery of underwater photos on my website

Posted by AlanL on June 7th, 2009

For anyone interested in underwater photography… I have just posted on my website a selection of photos from my recent trip to the Northern Red Sea. Take a look at www.alanlarsen.co.uk

All feedback and comments gratefully received. I’m particularly interested in which images people like the most. When taking photos it’s very easy to get wound up in the images that took a lot of time or effort to get or were technically difficult – and then lose sight of what the viewer actually likes!  So I’m interested to find out what you like the most.  Please either leave a comment on here or contact me via the link on my website.

For anyone who wants to spend a week concentrating on taking photos without worrying about losing their buddy or the rest of the group (!), I strongly recommend booking on to a photo workshop. I have now been on several with Mark Webster and Martin Edge (others run them too…); not only do you get more opportunity to take photos, you can also learn loads – both from Mark and Martin as well as from the other photographers on the trip. (And the participants shoot with everything from basic compacts to housed dSLRs.)

Really fantastic photos, Alan. I’d say my favourite was the shot of soft coral on the Giannis D (no. 13), although numbers 1, 5, 8 and 13 all come a very close joint second…

Thanks for your feedback Jason. No 13 is one of my favourites too – and it was quite hard to get; it’s the best of a dozen shots – the only one where I got the sun directly behind the coral – and it still has my bubbles right in the middle of Snell’s window!
