New Year Greetings to all our Members!
Firstly can I say that I hope 2009 brings you everything you desire – at least in the Diving stakes!
We already have a growing schedule of events for this year – with the promise of lots more to come. The first event of the year, and it is a pretty major event at that, is our first Try Dive Weekend on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th February. Please click on the link to find out all the details. Although the primary focus of this event is to get people into the fantastic world of diving, there will also be the chance for current divers to try out some specialities – more details can be found here!
Secondly, for this year, we have changed the format of our monthly meetings. A few members have said that, interesting as the previous meetings were, part of the reason they came along was to experience the “Social Element” of the Club. With this in mind, the Committee will hold their meetings to discuss all things Club related from 7.00-7.30 on Club nights, so that when the “evening proper” starts at 7.30, we will be able to briefly re-cap our news leaving much more time for Socialising! As we wish to remain transparent, any members who would like to attend the Committee part of the Tuesday meeting will, of course, still be welcome!
Our next monthly meeting will be on Tuesday 3rd February, at Halfway 2 Heaven (downstairs bar) as previously – come one, come all! It would be great to meet as many of you as possible! Things that I know we will be discussing at the February meeting will include the forthcoming Try Dive Weekend, LIDS 2009 and our forthcoming trips. We are also looking at the possibility of having occasional talks on all things related to Scuba Diving.
If you have any comments, please feel free to let us know – after all – THIS IS YOUR CLUB, the Committee are only here to facilitate them!
