LDC Dive Lectures - 31st January 2008
Posted by Neil on December 17th, 2007

The London Diving Chamber is running its Annual Dive Lectures on 31st January 2008, at the Royal Geographical Society, Kensington Gore, from 6.30pm.
The event is free but you must pre-register. Since all the tickets went last year within 24 hours of being announced, I have reserved 8 tickets for club members - but I need to give them names very soon - so the first 7 GLUG members to email me (log in, then click on the envelope at the top of the post) will get the places.
Details of the speakers (Mike Valentine & Monty Halls) follows:
Mike Valentine – Underwater cameraman and Director
Mike Valentine is one of the world’s leading underwater cameramen. He has worked on an enormous range of films, television programmes; music videos and TV commercials together with numerous A-list celebrities including: Daniel Craig and Eva Green in “Casino Royale”, Angelina Jolie in “Tomb Raider II”, Kiera Knightley in “Atonement” and Steven Spielberg in “Indiana Jones III”. His filming underwater has involved complex stunts and special effects that have added to the excitement of his diving and means that he really does have a job that we all envy and has many stories and adventures to tell us about.
MONTY HALLS – ‘The Great Ocean Adventure’
Monty Halls is one of the country’s leading explorers and marine biologists. His adventures never cease to amaze and amuse us all. There is no end to this man’s passion and energy for all things aquatic, whether talking about ‘Swimming with Giants’ or the filming of the series ‘Great Ocean Adventures’ as he and his crew travel to some of the world’s most remote and exciting locations.

Thanks Neil,
I had a great time at last year’s LDC (London Diving Chamber) lectures and I’d love to come again this year.
I’ll email you now.
